TASTING NOTES:

Nose: Rich aromas of black cherry, plum, and warm spice, interlaced with gentle notes of chocolate and mixed spice.

Palate: Full-bodied and smooth, the wine delivers ripe plum, red cherry and bramble fruit, backed by firm, velvety tannins and a touch of oak-derived chocolate and tobacco.

Finish: The finish is long and lingering — juicy dark fruit persists, accompanied by soft oak spice and subtle savoury undertones.

Alvi’s Drift Merlot is produced by the Alvi’s Drift estate in the Breede River Valley, South Africa. It is made from 100% Merlot and is part of their Signature range. The wine is hand-harvested, fermented (about 7 days on skins), and matured in French oak for up to 8 months to add structure and depth.

Cellaring Potential: Due to its structure and oak maturation, this Merlot can be cellared for 2–5 years, during which it will gain complexity and tertiary notes like tobacco and dark chocolate.
