The Boschendal 1685 Shiraz is a masterfully layered red, sourced from a selection of cool-climate and maritime vineyards across Stellenbosch and the Swartland. This strategic blending allows the wine to capture both the peppery finesse of the cooler sites and the deep, dark fruit concentration of the warmer ones. Matured for 14 months in a combination of French and American oak, it is a full-bodied powerhouse. It is celebrated for its “velvet-on-steel” character—a wine with incredible structural strength but a texture that is remarkably soft and inviting.
