TASTING NOTES:

Nose: An alluring and fragrant bouquet. Expect prominent aromas of ripe red plums, dark cherries, and mulberries, with subtle, exotic undertones of oriental spice, juniper berries, and a whisper of sweet wood smoke.

Palate: Medium-bodied and wonderfully succulent. The palate is led by vibrant strawberry and cherry flavours, laced with hints of clove and cinnamon. It possesses a soft, powdery tannin structure that provides an elegant mouthfeel.

Finish: Smooth and persistent. It leaves a lingering aftertaste of sweet red fruit and a refreshing, clean acidity that invites another sip.

The Durbanville Hills Pinotage is a masterclass in the “Cool Climate” style of the Western Cape. Sourced from vineyards that face the cold Atlantic Ocean, the grapes benefit from late afternoon mists and sea breezes that slow the ripening process, allowing for intense flavour development without losing natural acidity. This is a medium-bodied, polished red that focuses on red fruit purity and refined structure. Matured for 12 months in predominantly French oak to ensure the wood complements rather than dominates, it is an elegant, smooth wine that proves Pinotage can be as graceful as it is bold.
