WHY IS IT SPECIAL?

What makes Nederburg Noble Late Harvest exceptional is its heritage and craftsmanship. Nederburg pioneered this style in South Africa back in 1969, and this wine continues that legacy with its intricate balance of botrytised fruit, fresh acidity, and floral sophistication. It is both richly sweet and refined, making it a collectable dessert wine that ages gracefully yet remains accessible.

TASTING NOTES:

Nose: Rich and inviting, with aromas of dried apricot, honey, orange peel, and floral jasmine.

Palate: Lusciously sweet with layers of dried peach, pineapple, tangerine, and tropical fruit, offset by zesty citrus and a core of botrytised richness.

Finish: Long, elegant, and lively — the sweetness lingers, but a refreshing acid lift keeps it from feeling heavy, leaving notes of marmalade and honeyed fruit.

Product details

Nederburg The Winemasters Noble Late Harvest is an iconic South African dessert wine made in Paarl. It’s crafted from a blend of Muscat de Frontignan, Chenin Blanc, and White Riesling, picked late with botrytis (noble rot) to concentrate their sugars.  This wine is tank‑fermented (no oak contact), which helps preserve its purity of fruit and delicate floral aromatics. The 2023 vintage reportedly contains 193 g/L residual sugar and 8.0 g/L acidity — creating a luscious but balanced sweetness.

Food Pairing

This wine is a superb match for blue cheese (like Roquefort) or a rich foie gras pâté, where its honeyed sweetness and citrus-tinged notes cut through the richness. It also pairs beautifully with fruit tarts, panna cotta, and almond‑cream desserts, and can be savoured by itself as a contemplative after-dinner treat.
