TASTING NOTES:

Nose: Bright ruby in colour with inviting aromas of plum and black cherry, intertwined with herbal-tea notes, liquorice, and gentle oak spice.

Palate: The wine is soft and juicy, delivering mouth-filling summer-berry flavours, succulent black cherry, and rich plum, framed by smooth tannins and a subtle oak character.

Finish: The finish is polished and lingering, with a touch of sour cherry succulence and a gentle wood-spice grip that gives it a refined conclusion.

Product details

This Merlot comes from Franschhoek Cellar, located in the Franschhoek Valley in the Western Cape. This is a 100% Merlot wine. Grapes are handpicked from mature vineyards (some vines 8 to 26 years old), and the wine is aged in French oak for 8-12 months.

Cellaring Potential: Best enjoyed within 0–3 years of release, though with good storage, you may see some development in fruit concentration and oak subtlety.
