Slanghoek Cellar is based in the scenic Slanghoek Valley, about 800 m above sea level, framed by the Slanghoek Mountains. Their Private Selection Merlot reflects this cool-influenced terroir. The Merlot is medium-bodied, with oak integration and “prominent mulberry and fruitcake” on the palate. The finish is soft, accessible, and fruit-forward; the wine is ready to drink now or can mature for 4–8 years from vintage.
