CEDERBERG CABERNET SAUVIGNON

R260,00
WHY IS IT SPECIAL?
Thanks to the vineyard’s high-altitude, cool continental climate, the grapes enjoy a long ripening period, which helps preserve purity, freshness, and concentration — resulting in a Cabernet that is refined, structured, and elegant rather than blockbuster. The Nieuwoudt family (fifth generation) manages the estate with a deep commitment to sustainability and conservation, maintaining a virus-free, bio-diverse environment.

  • Platter's SA Wine Guide: 4.5 Stars

TASTING NOTES:

Nose: The wine shows classic blackcurrant and dark plum fruits, layered with cedar-wood undertones, tobacco leaf, and a hint of smokiness — evoking both fruit purity and high-altitude finesse.

Palate: Full-bodied yet poised, the palate reveals flavours of cassis, damson plum, and black cherry, balanced by firm but silky tannins. The oak ageing contributes soft notes of vanilla and cedar, while the mountain-grown fruit adds mineral salinity and elegance.

Finish: The finish is long and velvety, with lingering dark fruit, a whisper of tobacco, and a clean, mineral-driven finish that underscores its mountain terroir.

CEDERBERG SHIRAZ

R280,00

Why is it Special?

What makes Cederberg Shiraz special is its "Wilderness Purity." The air is so clean, and the location so isolated, that the vines are some of the healthiest in the world. It is "Special" because it offers Unmatched Aromatic Intensity—giving you a unique "fynbos" and "cracked black pepper" character that is laser-focused. It is a "Cult Classic," consistently ranked among the top tier of South African wines and a must-have for any serious collector looking for a Shiraz with true mountain soul.

Finish: An exceptionally long and commanding finish. It leaves a lingering trail of dark chocolate, sweet tobacco, and a final, aristocratic whisper of stony minerality.

Cenote Reposado is matured for at least 3 months in finer-grained, lightly toasted American oak barrels. Bottled at 40%. (Bottle size 750ml) TASTING NOTES: Nose: Balanced with vanilla and wood notes. Palate: Vanilla, wood, spices, cooked agave, and green vegetable. Finish: Harmonious and balanced.

CHAMONIX RESERVE PINOT NOIR

R230,00
WHY IS IT SPECIAL?
Chamonix Reserve Pinot Noir represents one of South Africa’s best-attempted expressions of cool-climate Pinot — a challenging grape that needs care, site and technique. The combination of high-altitude Franschhoek vineyards, calcareous-clay soils, careful low-yield viticulture and minimalist, site-driven winemaking gives a wine that balances elegance, purity and terroir expression. It’s a serious Pinot that can offer both early charm and short- to medium-term cellaring potential, making it a compelling choice for collectors seeking South African Pinot Noir with a sense of place

Finish: Clean, elegant and lingering, with persistent red fruit, a touch of savoury undergrowth and a refined, earthy note — reflecting a cool-climate Pinot Noir’s finesse rather than overripe heaviness.

COMPASS BOX PEAT MONSTER

R1030,00
Launched in 2013, this limited release commemorates the 10th anniversary of Compass Box's creation of "Monster". Originally produced for the Park Avenue Liquor Shop in New York, such was its popularity that Peat Monster was rolled out as a permanent bottling in 2003. The blend comprises Islay malts, both from the south of the island and from the village of Port Askaig, combined with Clynelish from the Highlands. Matured in a combination of American Oak and 2% new French oak for finishing purposes. Non-chillfiltered, naturally coloured and bottled at 48.9%. (Bottle size 750ml) TASTING NOTES: Nose: Intense aromas of peet-reek, smoke, seaside character and burnt ropes, with a subtle apple-fruitiness in the background. Palate: The palate is full, round and tremendously complex. Water brings out a spice- laden, sweet vanilla character, as well. Finish: Long, balanced and peaty.

COMPASSBOX SPICE TREE

R1069,00
The inaugural release of The Spice Tree used French oak staves placed inside the casks, which was deemed too radical a departure from tradition by the Scotch Whisky Association (SWA), forcing Compass Box to cease production. Relaunched in 2009, Compass Box now uses French oak barrel heads to create this second generation of The Spice Tree. Generally including single malts from Teaninich, Dailuaine and Clynelish, which are vatted together, re-casked and further matured. Non-chillfiltered, naturally coloured and bottled at 46%. TASTING: Nose: Big, sweet aromas of clove, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla. Palate: Full, round and sweet, with the spice and vanilla complementing the core distillery characters.
